HELIOS PV (Asia Pacific) has signed a Distribution and Strategic Collaboration Agreement with CAPE Renewables Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of Malaysian public-listed Cape EMS Berhad. CAPE Renewables develops, assembles, and supplies battery energy storage systems, and the agreement marks a significant step in strengthening HELIOS's residential energy storage offering.

What the Agreement Covers

Under the agreement, HELIOS becomes an appointed distributor for residential battery storage products manufactured by Cape EMS Berhad, including battery cabinets, battery modules, battery management systems, and energy management systems. The systems are designed for the residential solar market and are compatible with most inverter brands used in the EU market.

HELIOS will be responsible for importing, marketing, and distributing these Malaysian-assembled systems to customers, installers, and project developers, expanding access to reliable home energy storage as more households look to pair solar generation with battery backup.

Why It Matters

As residential solar adoption continues to grow, battery storage has become a critical part of the energy transition, allowing homeowners to store excess solar power, reduce reliance on the grid, and improve energy resilience. This partnership strengthens HELIOS's supply chain and product offering, supported by CAPE's manufacturing and technical expertise.

Regulatory Alignment for the EU Market

All products delivered to the EU market will carry the necessary EU market requirements and CE marking, supporting compliant deployment across the region.

Technical Support and Training

Technical training and second-level engineering support will be provided together with local product support out of Germany, backed by a warehouse located in Hannover.

Looking Ahead

Both companies will collaborate on product localisation and market development as opportunities such as project work and co-branding are identified. The partnership also leaves room for future collaboration in energy efficiency management solutions, an area of growing relevance in energy-conscious markets such as Europe.

The initial focus of the partnership spans Germany, the wider EU, and Asia Pacific, with the agreement structured to allow expansion into additional countries by written agreement as regional opportunities develop.
