Two formal agreements signed on 11 May 2026 have established Jiangsu Linyang Energy Co., Ltd. and Helios PV (Asia Pacific) Pte. Ltd. as strategic partners β combining world-class Chinese manufacturing with Helios' regional execution capability to accelerate the clean energy transition across Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe.
The partnership brings together two companies with complementary strengths. Jiangsu Linyang Energy brings manufacturing depth β high-efficiency N-type TOPCon solar panels and a full range of battery energy storage systems β alongside end-to-end project services covering engineering, construction, and long-term operation and maintenance. Helios PV brings what Linyang cannot easily replicate from China: established relationships with local governments and private sector clients across Southeast Asia, a strong regional sales network, and 16 years of on-the-ground solar integration experience.
The two agreements signed on 11 May formalise this complementarity into a commercial and operational framework spanning two distinct geographies.
The Distribution Agreement β Eastern Europe
The first agreement appoints Helios PV as an authorised, non-exclusive distributor of Linyang's battery energy storage systems across Eastern Europe for a three-year term. The arrangement gives Helios PV formal manufacturer backing to market and sell Linyang's BESS range in the region β a geography where demand for grid-scale storage is growing rapidly as European governments push to decarbonise their energy systems and integrate increasing volumes of intermittent renewable generation.
For Linyang, the appointment extends their European distribution reach through a partner with a demonstrated track record of commercial execution. For Helios, it adds a high-quality BESS product line to their offering at a time when storage is becoming inseparable from solar in most serious project proposals.
The Strategic Cooperation Agreement β Southeast Asia
The second agreement creates a broader framework for joint project development, shared resources, and investment across Southeast Asia. It is built around two major projects that Helios to develop in Malaysia, for which Linyang has committed priority supply.
Kelantan β 1000 MW Solar + 1.6 GWh Storage
The larger of the two projects is a 1000 MW solar installation paired with 1.6 GWh of battery energy storage in Kelantan. This is a significant scale-up of Helios Group's previously announced Helios Solar Park development in the state, and Linyang's priority supply commitment locks in both the solar panels and the storage systems from a single, vertically integrated supplier.
Sabah β 31.68 MW Solar + 24 MWh Storage
The second committed project is a 31.68 MW solar installation with 24 MWh of battery energy storage in Sabah β extending Helios' East Malaysian footprint into a new state and adding significant storage capacity to their portfolio.
What Comes Next
Beyond these two anchor projects, the cooperation agreement establishes a pipeline of joint initiatives. The two companies plan to co-develop and invest in further solar and storage projects across Malaysia and Singapore β including standalone battery storage connected to grid services such as frequency regulation and demand management, virtual power plant networks aggregating distributed energy assets across multiple sites, and energy management services for industrial parks and data centres.
There are also plans for zero-carbon industrial zones in both countries β business parks operating on fully renewable power, with green procurement and carbon offset mechanisms built in for tenants. These would represent some of the most ambitious integrated clean energy developments in the region, combining generation, storage, and end-user sustainability infrastructure under one framework.
Financing the Pipeline
On the financing side, both companies have agreed to jointly approach three major institutions: the Asian Development Bank, DBS Bank Singapore, and the Bank of China Singapore Branch. The combination of a China-headquartered manufacturer with established banking relationships and a Singapore-incorporated operator with regional project credibility creates a strong joint approach for multilateral and commercial financing conversations.
"We are proud to formalise this partnership with a company of Linyang's global standing. Together, we bring a powerful combination of world-class technology and regional execution capability. Our shared vision is to be at the forefront of the energy transition in Southeast Asia and beyond, delivering projects that create lasting value for communities, investors, and the environment."
β Ng Chun Ee, Director, Helios PV (Asia Pacific) Pte. Ltd.What This Means for Helios Group
The Linyang partnership is the most significant supply chain and co-development agreement Helios Group has announced to date. It locks in a tier-one manufacturer for two major Malaysian projects, opens an Eastern European distribution channel, and creates a structured platform for joint investment and development that extends well beyond any single project.
For investors watching the group's Frankfurt Stock Exchange listing process, the agreement demonstrates both the scale of Helios' project pipeline and the commercial credibility that comes with being chosen as a strategic partner by one of China's leading renewable energy manufacturers.
