Battery storage add-on
Store Today's Sun
for Tonight.
A rooftop solar system stops earning the moment the sun goes down. Adding battery storage keeps your home running on your own power well past sunset — and keeps the lights on if the grid ever goes down.
Why Add a Battery
Use More of Your Own Power
Without storage, unused solar is exported to the grid the moment it's generated. A battery lets you shift that midday surplus to cover your evening peak — when your household actually uses the most electricity.
Resilience, Not Just Savings
Singapore's grid is highly reliable, but outages do happen. A battery-backed system keeps essential circuits running — refrigeration, lighting, Wi-Fi — without waiting on grid restoration.
Why this matters, from Singapore
Singapore is home to Southeast Asia's largest grid-scale battery storage deployment — a 200MW/285MWh system on Jurong Island — developed under the Energy Market Authority's ACCESS programme as part of the national push toward 2GW of solar capacity by 2030. Helios Group's Singapore office sits inside that same ecosystem, running the group's battery engineering and technology partnerships — including with Linyang Energy Storage — for projects across the region. A residential battery add-on draws on the same engineering discipline used on our commercial-scale work.
Common Questions
Can I add a battery after my solar system is already installed?
In most cases, yes — provided your inverter is battery-ready or can be upgraded. We'll confirm compatibility as part of your site assessment.
Does a battery change my Net Energy Rebate?
Your NER credit is based on what you export to the grid. Since a battery lets you store and use more of your own generation before anything is exported, most households see their export volume — and NER credit — decrease slightly, while their overall bill reduction increases.
How is sizing determined?
We size battery capacity against your household's evening and overnight consumption pattern, not just your solar system size — so you're not paying for storage you won't use.
